Diane S. Sánchez
Diane is an independent director and a proven c-suite executive in the Information, Communication and Technology (ICT) sector with extensive senior management experience in strategic partnerships, corporate transformation, acquisitions, and market entry engaging in transformational technology.
Distinguished for her consensus building, she is instrumental in working with industry and thought leaders in Latin America and USA to formulate strategic alliances and cooperative business strategies directly contributing to successful market entry and rapid market growth. She directs business in over twenty countries in the Americas with broad business, sales, and pan-regional experience spanning a full range of global public and private companies. Diane is also very active in the community with activities centered on education, healthcare, entrepreneurship and the disenfranchised.
She has served on the board of directors of a number of for-profit and not-for-profit organizations. Diane served on the Board of Directors and the Compensation Committee for Mozido Inc., launching their global operations and mobile payment platform providing financial services. Recognized for her commitment in promoting education, Diane was named to the Board of the National Latino Education Research Agenda Project (NLERAP) and served for five years building dialogue concerning the education crisis confronting Latino communities. Most recently she served as CEO, Technology Foundation of the Americas, and successfully launched a private/public sector strategic economic stimulus initiative eMerge Americas to establish Miami as the Technology Hub for Latin America. Diane also serves on the Latin Business Today Advisory Board as a Senior Advisor, driving growth and success for Hispanic businesses, mentoring Latino entrepreneurs. She currently serves as an Independent Director for Seabras1, the first direct subsea cable systems connecting Brazil to the USA.
Diane is a Partner for TriCap Partners, an investment firm working to
pursue strategic alternatives to enhance shareholder value and raise capital to meet growth objectives for early-stage and middle-market growth companies. She currently serves as a Senior Advisor in ICT Infrastructure for Partners Group, a global private investments management firm.
Diane has played several key leadership roles in transforming Latin America’s ICT infrastructure and has held senior leadership positions in some of the world’s leading global technology companies to include: President and CEO for Telefonica USA, providing corporate communications, managed services, information technology, and business continuity for Fortune 500 companies in Latin America and Europe; President and CEO of Global Crossing Latin America, launching operations in Caribbean, Central America, Mexico, and South America, responsible for building the Latin America International backhaul and subsea network infrastructure as we know it today; President, Terremark and NAP of the Americas, launching the Latin America Operations and Fifth Communications and IP hub in the World in Miami; President, Global Operations, Mozido, leading market entry in establishing global partnerships and alliances for a mobile payment financial services platform; SVP Sales and Operations, Alcatel Lucent, Caribbean and Latin America, in the forefront of deploying mobile and network communications into the region and Regional Sales Director, Alestra (AT&T), launching in-country operations in Mexico in the onset of Mexico’s market deregulation.
She is the recipient of numerous honors and industry awards including: International Business Woman of the Year – People To Watch – South Florida Business Journal (2014), HITEC Top 100 – Top Most Influential Hispanic Professionals in the IT Industry (2014). Business Woman of the Year – South Florida Business Journal (2010), Top Women in Trade (2006), Diane also serves as the Chair of the National Association of Corporate Directors NACD in San Antonio.
Diane holds a BBA at the University of Texas, McCombs School of Business, Austin, Texas, where she studied International Business.
She and her husband Mark Marion have two children, Arriana Marion and Mark Marion.
